SATAN DISPELLED
“I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” (Luke 10:18 ESV)
Some people say, quite rightly, that idols have no actual existence, that there’s nothing to them, that there is no God other than our one God, that no matter how many of these so-called gods are named and worshiped they still don’t add up to anything but a tall story. (1 Corinthians 8:4-5)

שֵׁד | shêd | shade
Briggs, Driver, Brown Hebrew Lexicon and James Strong both assign the definition of “demon ” to this word but the context of the word used, reveals that a shade (pronounced shed), is a pagan-hairy-goat-idol and was not a supernatural entity at all. The literary context reveals that this shade was nothing but a mythological character that was imbued with power by the actions of man through man designing the goat-idol to fit the imagined characteristics and physical attributes of their highly superstitious thinking. Man had a belief and man fabricated an icon to fit that mythological belief.

Satan Dispelled: the doctrine of demons Myths or Reality
Where do our beliefs come from? It is a question that we should all ask ourselves. As for most of us, through either traditions or influence, our beliefs have become very much a part of our lives that we think there is no need to question them. Many of us can be deceived without even knowing it. Although, a person who is being deceived does not even know that they are until they discover the flaws in their thinking. If we are to believe that our own heart cannot deceive us then why was it that the prophet Jeremiah did say, through inspiration, that “The heart is deceitful above all things,..." (Jer. 17:9)
